An over eager yet incompetent male character where all of his attempts to be masculine are just played for jokes is a fairly common trope, and I could see the possibility of that being a little bit in play here but we won’t see how much or if at all till the movie. Everyone was acting pretty goofy anyway.

This 100%.

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with the scene, because I just see it as a joke.
The makeup part is okay, but at least Hitch doesn’t appear happy about the whole situation, so, hopefully he’s just a normal stallion and not gay, bisexual, trans or any other Twitter-esque trend.
Her impaling thing being based on her lack of magic is actually kind of interesting and cute. I still maybe a bit more mixed then some on the trailer but I liked this scene.

>-The first two sentences literally destroy all of G4 and render it moot with the three pony races conflicting.
Only destroys it if they have Twilight Sparkle failed or fallen in someway. If she had a peaceful reign for many years then it is merely time going on.
>-“There is no magic” literally means we might as well have ended G4 with Cozy Glow getting her victory and purging equestria of all magical power.
Don’t know why this is. Can’t render judgement yet. If it was recent or relatively off in the far future then I don’t see how it itself being a bad plot point in itself.
>-The male character is shat on and turned into a literal fucking clown.
How is the clown makeup gag so unacceptable and how is he shat on?
>-And on top of it, all the characters faces are horrifyingly uncanny.
This is one I certainly can see. Especially up close. I’m mixed on how uncanny it looks to me but I can see it.
@Daneasaur
It’s kinda like the Star Wars Sequel trilogy. Things just got worse.
Though I’ll save my judgement until after I’ve seen it.
I thought it looked cute overall.
But I’ve experienced first hand how manipulative a trailer can be.

Celestia and Sonata Dusk? Who are the-
OH! You mean Cakelestia and Taco Tuesday Girl!
Right, I remember them both.
Good menu items, good menu items, indeed.
Bean Can Pony: *sigh*
Celestia and Sonata Dusk, in unison: You get used to it.
I’m ded
“A pegasus attack. A deadly bean weapon. My God. Beans.”

Maybe they just don’t like beans.
I like their faces, I think their cute. Though, admittedly the whole uncanny valley has zero effect on me.

Another complaint I’ve seen is the lack of horse rump.
