I was supposed to wait a little longer to post this but I CAN’T AHHHH  
ship art is my favorite thing to consume and to produce and I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone else with this ship?? so of course I had to share
 
 
in the hollowverse, donut joe and soarin both had kids with ponies they didn’t love. joe was married to another unicorn for several years, having three kids with her, until eventually the two divorce. joe has full custody of his children. soarin, conversely, had a child with another pegasus who he had a short fling with. he raised his only daughter, raindrop glisten, as a single father until she is a teenager.
 
soarin and joe meet and hit it off instantly, bonding over being single fathers. the two form a hesitant relationship, and eventually get married. raindrop wasn’t a fan of joe or his kids (especially his kids, and especially matcha green tea) and was very combative with her new family in her youth. she does come around eventually, but I haven’t decided at what point. it’s possible she won’t come to appreciate her family until adulthood
