You thank Snap for the help, and as you are lead westward by the aroma of baking bread, you ask your seadog friend if she will be joining you on your journey to the Yggdrasil tree.
Snap: “Err… can sail safe outside of seadog territory, but don’t think this one can help ponies after that.”
You nod, as that sounds more than fair to you; Snap already did much to help, and you wouldn’t want to overstep the bounds of her kindness. After all, she doesn’t have a good reason to follow you on your quest.
Soon, you arrive at the village’s bakery, where a dozen of seadogs operate the mills and ovens, while others pass by for something to bite. A large wooden counter at the front displays an appetizing line-up of golden baked goods, all free for the taking.
You pick what looks like some sort of short bread stick, but find that it is much heavier than you would have expected… and that you are unable to sink your teeth into it. At all.
Snap: “Good snack for strong jaw, yes? Or, err… maybe you try something else?”
Snap offers to take the bread stick from you, then points to something ponies might actually be able to eat. You are delighted to find a large tray of bread pudding, and after each getting a serving, you eagerly dig in.
The warm and soft, savoury dish quickly chases away the shivers of the early ocean breeze, and makes for an enjoyable light breakfast.
You feel satiated.
Having now well slept, bathed and eaten, you feel ready to get down to business. You decide to first ask Snap about meeting with the local leader, to which she beckons for you to follow her.
Your seadog companion walks you southeast to the captain’s quarters, and up to the centre house’s entrance. She then motions for you to wait outside, before pushing through the door. When she returns just a moment later, you hear a high-pitched scratchy voice coming from inside.
Captain: “Well, well, well! What do we have here?”
Then, a surprisingly small seadog comes into view. Presumably the captain, though you are honestly unable to tell whether she is very young, or simply short. Still, you waste no time introducing yourselves to her.
Captain: “Scrap, captain of the Wind Shepherd crew. Honoured, to be sure. So, what do you want with this one?”
