I couldn’t stand this cheep grab for emotions because it was so pathetic in multiple ways. Namely that the last Spike focused episode, Twilight basically told Spike to stop relying on her. Next is the fact that this plot point was covered so hard in season 2. The final part is how this hurts twilight at all, when she’s never exhibited a shred of any “maternal” aspects. She would/should have just snapped back like she always does with her own reasonings.

Guh, they just ruined spike’s development…
