P1
All was going well until Celestia failed to make her appearance on the balcony. Things got worse when an alicorn-sized bat pony appeared and enslaved the crowd.
Twilight KNEW this would happen, she had warned the princess, warned the town’s ponies, and now look. There would be time for ‘I told you so’ later, right now Nightmare Moon needed to be stopped at all costs.
Twilight had read about the only being who could bring peace to this budding war, Harmony herself. Twilight poured over her books while her newly acquired team of miscreants made everything harder, or so she felt. Things began to look up when Pinkie Pie found a book on Harmony, and they discovered the location of the last place she was ever seen. The Castle of the Two Sisters was foreboding, but eternal night seemed far worse.

P2
First they needed to enter the Everfree forest, a mysterious location where the laws of magic didn’t seem to apply. Clouds moved themselves, and plants grew without intervention. As they were making their way by a sheer cliff an avalanche suddenly struck, and they fled. Twilight got separated from the rest of the group and found herself half galloping half gliding down a hill, boulders rolling after her. The cliff edge was drawing near and Twilight spread her wings in anticipation of the jump. Suddenly Applejack called out to her, and told her not to jump. She insisted that Twilight stop running, and not jump off the cliff. It was ‘safer’. Twilight thought the orange pegasus was crazy, why wouldn’t she just fly away? Applejack pleaded for Twilight to heed her word, and in a split second decision, Twilight did so. She slid to a stop at the edge of the cliff and duck down in fear. The boulder careened towards her, hit a small ledge, and bounced over Twilight’s head. Twilight looked on in amazement as the stone dropped to the bottom of the ravine. As soon as Twilight saw Applejack she demanded to know why she couldn’t just jump and fly over the gap, and Applejack explained that there was a strong downdraft in that gorge that would have pulled Twilight to the bottom. Applejack had been telling the truth, not jumping was safer. With Twilight’s mediocre flight skills she would have certainly plunged to her doom.
