Okay! So I wanted to make and post this yesterday, but obviously I wasn’t able to.  
So I made it today instead.  
It’s supposed to be a Holiday Special sort of thing, so it’s technically a day late but honestly who cares lol.
 
So anyway, people have been asking me about the relationship between Cupid and his father Blueblood, so I decided to showcase it a bit.
 

 
1: This here is a picture of Cupid on the day he was born, Hearths Warming~  
Blueblood, to this day, considers the day Cupid was born to be the best day of his life. Cupid is the greatest gift he has ever received, regardless of any of the struggles they went through as Cupid grew up.
 

 
2: Cupid in his childhood years~  
During the holiday season when Cupid was around 8 or 9 years old, Blueblood was having a really hard time. And it was showing. He was tired, and depressed, and even though he did his best to make sure that their Hearth’s Warming was as good as it usually was…. Cupid could tell that his father wasn’t feeling his best.  
He remembered that whenever his father expressed his affection for him, he would always call him his “precious gift”….. and since Cupid couldn’t think of anything better to give his father, he decided to give himself as a Hearth’s Warming gift to his father~  
Very late at night on Hearth’s Warming Eve, Cupid made his way downstairs with a large box that he had gotten ready in advance. He placed it under the tree and climbed inside, careful to make sure that the lid was open just enough for him to get air, and he waited.  
He of course ended up falling asleep, but he woke up when he heard Blueblood’s hoofsteps making their way to the tree the next morning.  
He waited with baited breath as Blueblood read the note on top of the box telling him to open the gift before waking Cupid up, and as soon as Blueblood lifted the lid, he leaped up to greet his father with a shout of “Happy Hearths Warming!!”
 
After recovering from his shock, Blueblood grabbed Cupid and hugged him tight, unable to stop a few tears from escaping. It meant so much to see how much Cupid cared for him.
 

 
3: Cupid during his rebellious teens.  
When Cupid was in his mid teens, he started to act a lot moodier, and would often lash out at Blueblood. Of course Blueblood knew not to take any of it to heart, it’s just teenage angst. And they still got along, and were close, so it wasn’t an issue that he felt needed to be fixed, as it would most likely go away with time.
 
One year, around Hearths Warming, Cupid approached Blueblood and asked for the identity of his other biological father. As, while he knew that Blueblood had gotten a sperm donation from a stallion he knew, Blueblood had never told Cupid his identity. Blueblood was obviously confused, as Cupid had never wanted to know before. But Cupid demanded to know….. so Blueblood told him. And…. Cupid did not take the information well.
 
He was a noble pony, raised under nobility and the heir to his father’s Dukedom…. and yet….. now he finds out that he’s not a “true” noble….. and he’s not even a pure blooded unicorn. Of course his blood doesn’t matter to HIM, but it mattered greatly to other ponies of noble blood…. which is probably why Blueblood kept the information from him in the first place.  
Cupid felt like his entire identity had been shattered, and he lashed out at Blueblood, screaming at him with his horn sparking in anger. Blueblood responded in both shock and anger himself, and they got into a pretty intense verbal argument.  
Eventually, Cupid ran up to his room, and refused to speak to Blueblood for almost a week afterwards.
 
Luckily, the two eventually talked it out. And while Cupid decided he did not want to meet his other father or his family yet, he didn’t hold anything against Blueblood….. how could he? Blueblood had raised him alone with so much love and care, he could never in his heart hold any anger or hatred for his father.
 

 
4: Cupid as an adult~  
While Cupid may not spend as much time with his father as he did when he was younger, he always makes a point to take a week off around Hearths Warming to spend time with his father.  
This is them exchanging gifts. And the origin of Cupid’s signature hairstyle.
 
As an adult Cupid has still yet to meet his other father or his family…. but that may be changing sooner rather than later~
 

 
This is the first post I’ve done like this so I hope it’s okay.  
I really want to do more of these in the future! Both to explore relationships between kids and their parents, but also to explore relationships between all my ng cast.
