Description
After the finale of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic, I decided to rework my Au, Spectraverse.
And to properly set the scene, I will be rolling out headcanons for canon characters from the show, starting with the Main Six.
Here are the Unicorns/Alicorn!
Obs: There are certain aspects of the finale that I did not like, and thus (since this is an AU), I have fitted some characters with new headcanons and details to better suit this AU.
Some storylines have been re-written and the ending altered.
I have also decided to include ships that I actually do not ship - AJ/RD and Fluttershy/Discord being some of them. But, they fit well enough with the stories I want to tell, and I focus more on my nextgen ponies than the actual cast anyway.
I decided to rewrite Twilight, as I didn’t like how she lost her entire character with that ascension. She’s still the nerdy, insecure and socially awkward stressball we know her as, AND love her as, and she didn’t take over for Celestia and Luna,
she simply helps them run Equestria as the third high princess of Canterlot. She also helps Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst run the School of Friendship.

- Generous, outgoing, kind and supportive.
- Thinks she knows what’s best for people.
- Rarity loves to travel and discover new things, and while she’s had her share of adventures, she’s always looking for ways to broaden her horizon, places to go, creatures to meet - she just loves to get inspired!
Already and established business owner, Rarity only sought to expand further and create new things! She’s very good friends with the yaks, and often leaves Yona and Sandbar to look after her original store in Ponyville when she travels.
She designs for the noble ponies of Canterlot, and for the creatures of the outlands, she strives to know every creature, and she loves to go on adventures - maybe she’ll stumble upon a mystery that needs solving?
A hopeless romantic, Rarity was always sure she would find herself a business pony or a prince, or maybe a spy or agent of some sort? Oh the adventures, the drama, the romance!
She never imagined falling in love and settling down with the soft-spoken and mostly quiet, Maud pie.
After realising that Mud Briar was maybe too much like herself, Maud never felt challenged or nervous about her relationship - it would be perfect, and absolutely boring.
When Rarity asked to go on one of Mauds expeditions with her because she needed a certain type of ruby for a design, Maud happily obliged - they were old friends after all, and Maud enjoyed her company.
The expedition took 3 months, and when they returned, the two mares were heads-over-heels for each other, though neither admitted it till another three months had passed.
They married some years later, and they have one foal together through magic, Cantera.
The two often goes on trips together via Mauds work, and studies gemstones and minerals for weeks on end. Rarity loves the possibility of stumbling upon ancient tombs, and Maud loves seeing her wife so excited.
Twilight Sparkle
“We will all rule. Together.”
Parents: Twilight Velvet and Night Light
Species: Alicorn/Mare.
Anatomy: Tall due to Alicorn, Large wings, Medium mane Long Tail, unicorn Tail and Poofy feathers.
Cutie Mark: A Pink glimmer with white starts around it.
Occupation: Ascended the throne of Equestria to be the third ruler of Equestria. With there being three princesses to overlook the duties, each had more time to pursue other interests too, and so she helps Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst run the School of Friendship on the side.
Nickname(s): Twi
Personality: - Nerdy, easily stressed, brave and understanding.
- Has a tendency to overthink.
- Always putting a lot on her plate, high princess Twilight Sparkle helps run a kingdom AND a school, but she thrives with the responsibilities and help from her friends.
She ascended the throne as the third high Princess of Equestria, and rules alongside Celestia and Luna at the seat of Canterlot. The three share the duties between them, and while Luna and Celestia each has their night and day parts to play, Twilights special part comes with the school of Friendship.
She helps run the school alongside headmare Starlight Glimmer and headstallion Sunburst.
The stress of becoming the new third ruler of Equestria sent Twilight spiralling into some bad decisions romance-wise in her first few years, and a fling with her personal guard, Flash Sentry, left her pregnant with a daughter; Starstruck.
While Flash Sentry was overjoyed at the thought of being a father, Twilight spiralled into a mess of nervousness and anxiety, that let to postpartum depression and an estranged relationship with the newborn foal and its father. Flash and Twilight parted ways after they both agreed the love had died, but they still see each other weekly whilst Starstruck is young.
The next relationship Twilight enters is with Sunburst, when Starstruck is about 4 years old.
The two had bonded over their shared friendship with Starlight Glimmer earlier, and Twilight found that maybe she could start a proper family with him, and meet the expectations of Canterlot nobility (a single mother with a broken relationship is not ideal after all).
Flash Sentry moved from Canterlot to the Crystal Empire, not on Twilights orders, but because he knew it would be strange to see her everyday with somepony new - he still visits weekly, if he can.
The couple of Twilight and Sunburst became the talk of Canterlot, and while neither really enjoyed the attention, they used it to strengthen the fait their subjects had to them and the throne - after a year of dating, the two got married.
Twilight bore a son with Sunburst, Spellcaster, and the small colt showed immense talent for magic and potion brewing - whilst his sister, being born a pegasus, would watch jealously from the shadows.
The followings years went well, though Twilight had to admit, she never truly had any feelings for Sunburst, and had mostly seen him as a way to please her subjects. Just when she had accepted her lovelife being a failure, Sunburst came to her with a confession; he wasn’t quite sure that things were working between them, and he was wondering if she would agree to a divorce.
The pressure of constantly being in the spotlight and expected great things from had left the stallion stressed and out of sorts, missing the simpler days, and though a lot or rumours about the royal couple was ensured to spread, the two parted on good terms.
Sunburst is just as much part of the foal’s lifes as Twilight is, and he loves them both immensely - and he even sees Starstruck every now and then, as he views her as a daughter as much as he sees Spellcaster as his son.
After the failure with Sunburst, Twilight stayed single for many years, enjoying watching her foals grow older and find themselves in life, but an old friend suddenly returned out of nowhere seeking employment at the castle after many years.
And Twilight found out she had a thing for ponies in armor - Tempest Shadow became her personal royal bodyguard and in the end; lifelong partner and wife.
Twilight occasionally still sees Flash Sentry, whom has since moved back to Ponyville, married and settled down… with Sunburst. The three of them are on good terms.
