Description

For anybody who’ve been paying attention, you’d know I made an update on the MLP reviews. I’ve been working them since 2017, back when there was only seven seasons, a theatrical film, and the promise of the show never ending. Obviously, some things have changed by then, including my plans for the review. For starters, they will now be compiled into one big review that covers each and every season of the show, the movie, and one surprise bonus review. If you’ve seen the Season 1 review I already posted, each review will essentially be like that, but it will also cover the premiere episode for each season. For the record, I’ve also edited the original Season 1 review to include the first episode, so that’ll be interesting. My goal is to have it posted before October 2020 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Friendship is Magic’s debut, or maybe June to celebrate something called Junicorn, so keep your fingers crossed. In the meantime, I figured you’d guys will want updates on how the art for the reviews are going. With that in mind, I’ve decided to post sneak peeks of sketches and other pictures to keep you guys informed on how far I’m coming on the project.

No sooner did Fluttershy Day passed that Equestria Daily announced an impromptu-day dedicated to the antagonist of the My Little Pony theatrical film, Tempest Shadow. In case you’re curious, I’m actually three-fourths of the way done reviewing the film itself, and by far the best thing about it is this villain voiced by Emily Blunt. So, it only makes sense that the Bumper pic for that review has him meet the menacing mare face to face, although Bumper seems oblivious to her stature as a villain. Now before anybody asks, Bumper doesn’t know her name is actually Fizzelpop Berrytwist yet, and the reason he can say Boop is because it’s similar to Boo. The reason I drew Tempest in her villainous state is because I dug the design while also thinking it’d be funnier for the cute, floating marshmallow to try to boop the nose of an intimidating menace. Whether or not I’ll draw him interacting with Tempest post-movie is entirely up to you guys. Let’s see how well this pic does along with the reviews themselves, then perhaps we’ll see if your enthusiasm prompts me to draw a Part II. Until then, keep checking back for more updates, since you’ll be seeing one of these for (almost) every day Equestria Daily can think up.
