Here are the most relevant takeaways from the interview with Jim Miller, I found this info enlightening.

Power Ponies were the idea of the higher ups to sell toys, but ironically didn’t get toys until years later. Interesting priorities.
They’re favorite ponies, seasons (in line with fan belief that 3, 6, and 8 were the weak ones, they weren’t fully involved with 1), and episodes (“A Trivial Pursuit” is…an interesting pick).

More evidence EG is done, they’re confirming all the staff have moved on. But they admit they don’t know what happens at Boulder Media or outside DHX so there’s room for hope there. They also keep Sunset confined to EG as she’s what makes it unique from FiM. (Makes sense, how could they put her into FiM without turning it into an EG episode?)
They “think” Nightmare Moon was self-generated by Luna, contradicting the comics. But it’s clear they don’t know or follow the other materials nor put to much thought into (i.e. Cadance’s origins which I thought the staff provided until now), so no word on if they’re behind the comic’s take or not. They even say the comics are as canon as The Movie (undeniably canon), EG (which he stated as canon), and past generations (cool, but dubious), it’s up to personal preference.
Notes he won’t criticize others work as it insults them and it’s hard to tell valid criticism from bad, explaining why the show hasn’t been more responsive to our criticism. (If they devolved to pissing on each others work it would hurt the franchise worse.)
What happened to AJ’s pattens is intentionally undecided and it was never decided if alicorns are so much more powerful proving the show doesn’t bother with consistent power level.
