She turns back towards Antoine’s flat and goes to the fireplace with the burnt notes. Her fiance did a good job destroying whatever evidence he was trying to destroy. He apparently didn’t bother to clean it all up afterwards, and there is a big of soot and ash sitting on the hearth. She puts a hoof up to it.

It’s very highly advised not to activate runes unless it’s a confirmed and approved spell. If and it’s approved experiment, always have medical personnel …
…they are activated by sufficient magical energy they require no other external energy source. The runes themselves provide the power necessary for the completion and/or upkeep of the spell. Indeed, some configurations of runes actually gain in strength the longer they activate.
…une is probably the most integral of all the runes discovered so far. Despite having no effect itself, when placed between the primary runes of a spell it amplifies it’s effects. In some cases the rune changes the effects of the spell altogether. Unfortunately, the use of the rune also increases the initial energy required to activate the spell altogether threefold for each rune. It is not recommended to try and activate spells with more than three “Big” runes without multiple magic users and/or an outside magical power source.
