Fizzlepop Berrytwist was a promising young unicorn from a small village in the northern Lunar Lands. She was top of her class and well on her way to being sent to Crescent on a recommendation from her teachers at her school. From an early age, she was adept in a rather destructive yet beautiful magick. Her basic ability with magicks weren’t anything to dismiss either, but her raw prowess with what she could do with her unique magick seemed like it would be a perfect match to refine as a soldier for the Lunar Kingdom. The fates, however, had different plans for the young unicorn.
Her fillyhood’s foolhardiness led to the youth’s horn being broken off from near its base. The incident left her permanently injured and hospitalized for a week. Her magicks were never really the same. The control she had over her explosive magicks had vanished. Fizzlepop had become a danger to herself and others everytime she had used any amount of magick. All her recommendations were rescinded, and her life as she knew it had ended. The young unicorn was barred from using magicks in the village and her friends had grown distant as their families had grown wary of her power. The fear and isolation went on for months until Fizzlepop could take no more. She snuck out one cold night leaving only her fading footsteps in the snow and never looked back. The citizens of Snowvale spent an entire month trying to locate her but when that failed, the village had pronounced her dead and gave her a grave knowing that they caused this situation. Years later, there would be some reports a strange visitor paying the grave a visit a sporadic times, but the description would be along the lines of, “Somepony familiar, but somehow not.”
In her years wandering alone, Tempest, as she now goes by, would do her best to hone her magickal abilities to little avail. Instead, she would train her body to overcome her glaring racial weakness in physical strength to make up for her lack of control. Traveling by herself had been one trial after another that would teach her just how intense her limitations were. Fighting in the streets, being homeless in some major cities, and the sneers from other ponies too busy for a unicorn with a broken horn had caused her to drown in cynicism . It was enough to convince her that these lands weren’t worth traveling through in the first place
She crossed the border from a blindspot she heard about through her few connections, and her next adventure began. Or so she thought. The two Kingdom’s citizens may have ignored her for the most part, but those other lands seemed to want to make a point of trampling over her with how heartless they were . Her street smarts got her through most of the trouble she ran into, but Tempest quickly made a reputation for herself. This attention gained the spotlight of the Storm King, a monster with the ambition to rule the world, and the power to back it up. He tested her by throwing a squad of goons to ambush her on her own turf that the unicorn carved out by her own hooves. What he didn’t expect was for half of the group to be taken out before being spotted out. She has grown to know her territory more than anyone in the short time in staking her claim. The rest fell with little resistance to her onslaught. It was a few days later when the Storm King himself came to recruit the powerhouse.
The Storm King didn’t require much to get Tempest to join. She wanted power, he could give it. The mad creature could also promise to fix that poor shattered horn. Such untapped power on a very powerful fighter would be a waste. The storm king also would provide training as a proper assassin since it was clear that she’s developed a knack for it from living in the lands outside of the Kingdoms. In return for the offer, Tempest relayed information about the blind spot on the border. It wouldn’t be enough to go through undetected with his airship fleet, but the flagship could get in alone before there’s a big enough force to stop him from approaching one of the kingdoms. A big joint-national holiday was to be observed in some times, and if ponies were as careless as she remembered them to be, that gap in security was going nowhere. It would be the perfect time to wound both kingdoms while seizing power. All that was left to do was to bide their time and train. There was no rush after all. Many lands were already under the control of the Storm King.
This began the chain of events that would lead Tempest Shadow to meeting the Warriors.
Raiden - A gift from the Storm King for completing her training as an assassin. It lets her have a conduit of sorts for her magicks. Even if she isn’t in full control of her magickal output, the Ninja Sword is attuned to her mana output and will convert some of it into electricity. The blade glows faintly on its own, but shines fairly brightly when at maximum capacity.
Assassin’s Mask - A mask Tempest wears to conceal most of her face. It silences her breathing up to a certain point as well as keeping dust and dirt out. It’s also charged with the Storm King’s arcane artes to filter out most poisonous gasses. When she speaks, her voice is bafflingly not muffled by the fabric. A truly mysterious accessory.
