Description
Page 1082 - Lie ProjectorGoing through the “Discorded” bits was always going to be a massive challenge to portray as a tabletop thing. These are not good things to be doing to your players – forcing them to roleplay a 180-degree flip of their characters. Transcript:
Discord: I warned you: In exchange for the answer to your question, no matter how clever or thorough, you would have to pay a cost. And yet you took it anyway, because you HAVE to know all the answers – HAVE to always be one step ahead, don’t you? Well, here it is. Ye creature of Harmony, thou hast welcomed the blessings of Chaos into your mind. From this moment forth, until our game is over… You are cursed to never reveal the truth.
Applejack: So… what, Ah have to always lie?
Discord: Too easy to game with double-negatives. So I’ve taken it one step further. Never reveal the truth. That includes implication. Lie. Change the subject. Gaslight if you have to!
DM: …Hrmm.
Discord: Have fun holding all the cards… and never being able to tell anyone!
Applejack: Wha… How am Ah supposed to beat this?!
DM: That’s the whole point, AJ. It’s a challenge! Now, let’s return you to Twilight, shall we?
Applejack: Oh, great…
