Description:

Soarin’ was the first stallion plush I attempted almost 2 years ago. I figured I’d give it another try and see how he turns out!

While I create a unique set of eyes for each pony, many of the other pieces were already somewhat created, or only needed minor modifications. When making a pony for the second time, it definitely does decrease the amount of time required to create templates or tackle problems (like the design of the mane). Soarin’ is the first pony to use my revised stallion head pattern (which was created at the same time as my new mare head pattern). I’ve also discovered the use of an extra strong type of thread that I plan to use going forward in most hand sewn areas.

He is made with soft minky fabric and stuffed with polyester fill. All details, including eyes and cutie mark are appliqued on - no embroidery here! All hand sewn areas (mane, tail, wings, neck and ears) are reinforced with heavy duty thread as traveling to cons can be rough on a handmade plush like this. Soarin’ measures 24 inches from hoof to hoof.

Soarin’ took about 25 hours to make.
