The one with the bandage sneers and looks like he is about to retort, but the calmer of the two intervenes and says, “Perhaps you missed something in his residence? We have enough reason to go in just from the two attacks, but we figure it’d speed everything up if we just asked for permission to search.”
“I still don’t feel comfortable doing that… Perhaps if you return with a warrant you could~~” She says to try to get them to leave, but the wounded one interrupts her.
“You are impeding our investigation. Why would you do that? It’s a very simple request. Trying to hide something? You know who have things to hide? Conspirators to crimes!”
“Ah ha… Well, let’s not~~” The kinder of the two starts, but the bandaged one interrupts for a second time.
He advances on the mare and says, “Alright, you are coming down to the City Hall with us!”
He then lunges at the mare and grabs her by the collar of the dress. She pulls away with a scream, ripping the neckline. She feels hooves at her side, and she instinctively kicks out, hitting the other big head and knocking him backwards.
The wounded one grabs at her again, this time catching her necklace. Mulberry has already begun to flee towards the open door however, and the necklace does little more than choke her for a split second before breaking and scattering beads all over the balcony.
She jumps into the room and lands in a heap on the floor. She then scurries to her hooves and holds the knife out, but the bandaged one has stopped at the doorframe.
The mare can see the seething anger in the guard’s flushed face and glare.
“Ah, there is blood all over the ground! You nasty little liar! You are under arrest!” he says.
The mare reaches over and slams the door closed.
