“Why is this so painful?”
finally my Japanese learning comes to use as a decoder for your hurt.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Luna my soul to keep,
Let I die before I wake,
I pray Celestia my soul to take.
Take me to Equestria.
Please…

fun fact: hiragana and katakana are syllabaries because each letter represents a syllable/mora, rather than a consonant/vowel.
And for kanji, definitely not an alphabet… logogram

Also, can you imagine Japanese typewriter before computers came along?

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Luna my soul to keep,
Let I die before I wake,
I pray Celestia my soul to take.
Take me to Equestria.

also a language note:
“sou” in Japanese is more like “so” in German than “so” in English. It means “in this way”
so maybe in German:
“Warum ist diese so schmerzlich?”
and in English
“Why is this painful in this way?”

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Luna my soul to keep,
Let I die before I wake,
I pray Celestia my soul to take.
Take me to Equestria.
Please…
