Featherin’s side:
Featherin grew up an only child to two loving parents in a small town. Her childhood was nothing special, the only thing she could remember most about it is how much she wished she had other siblings to play with. She never got along well with other ponies because she was so shy. With all the free time she had, she would focus on her creative side. Nights were often restless for her, but when she did sleep she had the most bizarre dreams. which she would make into stories and write into books. She was considered weak by her parents because of how fragile her immune system was. She’d frequently get sick, and her parents were very protective of her because of this.
Xavier’s side:
Xavier was born to a single mother, and grew up in the shadows and darkness of night. At the time, the world wasn’t very accepting of bat ponies, his only friend was his mom. He couldn’t remember a time where he wasn’t at her side. She ran a small trading business as a merchant, and taught her beloved son everything she knew, hoping to pass down the business to him when she died. It came a lot faster than she expected, leaving him alone at a young age. He did his best to carry on her work and survive by himself, but he was very lonely.
Their Story:
Featherin would often spend nights awake, writing her books or going on walks along the countryside. She loved the way the night sky looked away from civilization. On one of her journeys, she ran into a mysterious bat pony. To him, she was the most beautiful pony he had ever seen, and he swear he fell in love with her at first sight. The first night, they didn’t share many worlds, but both of them couldn’t stop thinking of the other. They’d go out every night just to see each other. After some time, Featherin’s parents found out about the relationship and forbid it. They didn’t like the idea of their precious daughter running off with some bat pony scoundrel. Featherin was heartbroken. She couldn’t stand not being with him… so… a couple nights later, they ran away together and got married. They lived in a small little cottage out in the country, far away from any other pony in sight. To Xavier, Featherin filled the hole in his heart that loneliness had eaten after all these years. And to her, he was the companion she never had. Together, they completed each other. After a few years of bliss together, Featherin gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Half bat pony, half pegasus. They named her Cloudy. Cloudy was a mamas girl. Always by her side, Xavier saw himself in her. Only a few years after Cloudy was born, Featherin got extremely sick, and passed away. She left a feather from her wing for her little girl to always remember her by.
After Featherin’s death, Xavier broke down. He couldn’t get himself to do anything, let alone raise a child. To him, Cloudy was a reminder of what he lost. He couldn’t bare it, so, shamefully he returned to Featherin’s parents with a little mare by his side. He begged for them to take her in, explaining what had happened to their child. They raised Cloudy as their own, and they never heard from her dad after that.
Xavier continued to travel the world, doing anything he could to drown the pain and to fill the hole in his chest that began to resurface. After years of fighting with himself, he realized what he had done. Cloudy was all he had left, and he left her. He had caused so much pain by being selfish and looking to lose himself, instead of rebuild what he had. When he returned to see his daughter, she already had her own family. A beautiful wife, and two wonderful children. He continues to rebuild what he lost, and he never plans on leaving his family again.
