I’m hardly the first to come up with ‘Jabba the Mutt,’ but it is certainly convenient that MLP just happened to already have a canine criminal cartel that I could slot smoothly into the comic by the change of a single letter. I made him a pug because of my friend’s dog (who once tried to eat my plastic D&D minis), only to discover while looking for reference photos that she wasn’t even half as pudgy as some examples of the breed.
 
Jabba’s court is the first substantial appearance of aliens in the trilogy (the cantina scene being more of an oasis of weird in an otherwise overwhelmingly human movie), so I tried to really diversify my menagerie. Special thanks to everyone who lent me their characters (especially the non-pony ones) for this segment.
