strict: he can be like this but if somepony has a good idea or try to compromise in order to benefit someone or a group then he could be a bit more loose in a way of saying, depending
 
kind: surprisingly he can be, but mostly too other creatures of the night and if a normal pony wants to join or at least knows a creature of the night made friends with one, then they will have to earn his trust then he will be nice
 
scary: even though he can be nice and kind to others, they still find him scary because of his temper, especially they did something wrong like the biggest one is exposing the rest of them to normal ponies who won’t understand causing hunters to go after them if that happened
 
grumpy: he gets grumpy sometimes, of coarse because he’s old and does not like some new ways (like new clothing trends or music, hes ok with drinking animal blood) because it’s hard for him to figure it out but will get the hang of it (like new technology)
 
stern: he is usually stern because he wants to keep the image of a good leader that other can look up too and does not want to show too much of his more non serious side except at home where he has time to relax
 
 
backstory: (if you read the book you know but for the AU i won’t say too much but his childhood i could see this)
 
he was born in a wealthy warrior family, he wanted to learn everything (and i do mean everything as it seems from my interpretation of one part of the story after researching) and be the a powerful soldier with both brains and brawn (not with big mussels but at least to hold a heavy weapon) yet he does have emotions he can love, laugh, cry, and have remorse but with him being a soldier he has to bottle all that so he can fight which hes ok with due to his heritage, (this is only a guess but since it’s public domain and i don’t think they say exactly how he tuned into a vampire but here is this) as he got older he probably did not want to die so he can learn more and be powerful (i think he may be king of the vampires but he did not seem to rule over humans/ponies he seemed to be a strange aristocratic guy who is scary but not leader) so he tuned himself into a vampire but it was not immediate it happened only when he passed and he became one ether that or he became one shortly after before they did anything to the body and escaped through a window or something i don’t know so ever since then he’s been learning and feeding over time, found love three times and was generally ok for a long while until 1897.
 
a question some might ask: will i put the brides in the AU…no probably not because the others don’t know where they are and somepony only found out about dracula and told a vampire, word spread and it reached the founders of the vampire society somehow but they don’t know where the others are and how does dracula feel about that they could be gone? and it’s unknown where they are well since i read in a wiki or something it does not say how he felt but i guess he was disappointed or upset that there gone but knows he has to move on
 
likes: old stuff (like music dancing, clothing especially if they came from his home land) things that are sophisticated (again listing the things i wrote before) secretly his friends but does not want to show it leaning about new things
 
dislikes: vampire, wolfpony hunters, garlic (he lets the others have them as long as they stay far away from him) week soldiers, being called a sweet because it makes him feel week, being defeated or challenged
 
a little note: i have this to say…who cares about what van helsing says i think dracula can learn as well as other vampires if you seen my journal entry before, but what i read there are things that dracula can do that seem mary sue-ish so i say yes he does have powers that are amazing but does not use it unless necessary
