So, it is time for some fluff, I guess. The first age of my project is about old kingdoms falling and new rising, it ends with vindigo crysis and starts about century before.  
Zebras occupy eastern part of the Old World because of savannah on the Cutiemap at the west from Equestria and, well “Fallout: Equestria” where they are used as China. They are rather unstable feudal empire where small tribes live by the old ways under protection of mighty kings who have actual armies.
 
When khan himself does not lead his army, this task is for generals who are promoted not for their fighting skills or nobility, but for intelligence and vast knowledge of the art of war. They use chariots drawn by slave servants to care less about running across the battlefield to observe and order.
