“What do you know of the place?” Mulberry says. “If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Has lot’s of fishing stuff, but I mostly just drove richer folk over here so they could stay at the Hotel Cormorant. A nice little get away. Has some great food too.”
“I see, thank you very much. Is the town close ?” Mulberry asks.
“Hmm…” the coachpony says in thought as he rubs his chin. “Another half an hour on hoof, I think.”
The mare then thanks him for taking her this far, and decides to get going. She looks up at the haze for a brief moment and walks carefully towards it.
The murky weather soon inhibits Mulberry’s sight almost completely. The mare has trouble seeing more than about a few hooves in front of her, and looking up she can only barely make out the sun. The fog seems to stifle all sound as well, causing the sounds of nature to come out as a low, sharp moan. Mulberry also gets an ever increasing feeling that she is being watched. She has an almost overwhelming urge to charge forward to escape the gloom as quickly as possible, and does her best to fight it. If she did that she may get lost and never find her way out of here. She takes a slow, deep breath and tries to calm herself. Looking at the ground, she finds she can still see the path, and so finds the edge of it and uses it as a guide.
Sometime later Mulberry’s vision returns, and she finds a perfectly visible town before her. Looking around, she notices the fog is no where in the city, though it borders it almost like a wall.
She ponders how odd this is as the mare pulls out her letters. She removes a folded piece of paper from one of them, revealing a map that Antione had drawn her. This was drawn before he had told her not to come of course.
She knew Her fiance was living above the general store, which is very likely the #4 marked on the map.
