sorry for wolfpony having hooves but i could say it’s almost complete transformation and i may make more but it depends on how i feel
 
i’m thinking of making 10 types of wolfpony packs for my AU because i want to and to show my ideas
 
the cave-wolfponies the oldest wolfpony pack:
 
males: are taller, hairier and strong
 
females: are smaller, have long hair and graceful
 
fillies and colts: are playful, fast and curious
 
clothing: they were clothing from the animals they hunt like deer or from other materials like linen mostly but despite being cave ponies they can farm and make clothing out of wool
 
#1 the cave-wolfponies hunt in packs both as normal ponies and wolf ponies, only adult males can go out and hunt for food and make weapons to hunt, they only eat meat in their wolfpony form.
 
#2 the females are gatherers the find berries and farm food (some older males do it too) they make the vegetarian foods for their pony forms and help in the home and the pack with helping the older folks and the young ones and teaching them the ways of the wolfpony (at least in their pack)
 
#3 they lived in caves but have used wood and other material to make their homes and have rooms like any other house even a den which to them is the living room
 
wolfponies live up too 300 years (depending on life quality)
 
history:
 
at some point a group of ponies (a tribe) needed to survive with lack of plants to go around because of a drought and famine they were desperate but this was before the pony tribes learn to co exist with each other and this tribe were earth ponies so they are stuck since they don’t have magic.
 
one pony, desperate enough to go find a powerful unicorn went to ask for help, the unicorn denied but the pony pleaded the unicorn because his tribe were starving and trusty so the unicorn agree to help because he can’t let somepony and their tribe die so he told he should bring his tribe over and the pony agreed.
 
so the next day he brought his tribe over to the unicorn and he told them a spell where they will become something that will help them with their hunger that they will eat more then just plants to survive, they will run without getting tired (of coarse they will eventfully get tired but they have good stamina) one wondered if they can turn back and the unicorn said they can so that one pony was ok with that, but the unicorn told that they must be careful with this power for no normal pony must know and if they do they must show they are no harm or turn them into one of them but it’s a low chance for that to happen unless there was enough saliva but really is best not to expose themselves.
 
so after thinking they are unsure but depredation took over and they all decided to become this creature so they did but after the spell they are still normal and one ask if they became this creature but the unicorn said not yet but have to wait until the full moon then after that the tribe leader thanked the unicorn and left.
 
one night when the full moon came the whole tribe were in pain then when the transformation was complete some of it’s ponies howled and some growled when they all left their homes they all found out that their wolfs soon after that night they were no longer hungry after hunting for deer, can smell good food like berries and able to run as long as they want when they are normal they found they sometimes display wolf like behavior and other normal pony tribes seen to noted that so this wolfpony tribe left and live in the forest.
 
 
so for 10,000 years they hunt, foraged and cared for each other, some ponies might have saw them and made strange legends about them some from attacks but is only for ponies that try to harm the pack and some are mistaken for them when it was something else, when the pony tribes now co exist some unicorns and Pegasus joined ether by marriage, were one of the attacks who actually transformed or they want to be a wolfpony because they think is cool or are desperate like they were but some found and used that spell that unicorn did and transform some ponies into one of them because they want to increase the population due to wolfpony hunters killing them but after some time that became illegal because then they will find out if they try to hunt the transformed pony. but also because of that some wolfponies decided to make their own packs which caused there to be more packs over the years in the history but once the originals passed on ponies who joined the pack (whatever they transformed or not but the “not” part is rare) or were born into it over time became unrelated to the pack where they came from so if two wolf ponies get together from different packs there is no insest problems because they are unrelated and each pack made their own culture or adapted depending on the region but they are territorial so sometimes packs fight for territory until one gives up.
 
 
so that is the story there will be more but it will only talk about the packs life and the way of living depending on hoe things go
