“Just a teeeensy wittle smile. Just for the photo”
“I hate you… so much…”
I thought it could be a cute little idea having Scarlet and Petit do a sort of recreation of something from when they were kids. The height difference hasn’t changed much after all.
Petit Choux finds it humiliating and would rather just someone shoot him than have his sister try and hold him like he was still a baby.
I also tweaked Scarlet’s colors a bit so that the two would fit together more. Even though I love her original colors they never really felt right whenever she was close to anyone from her family. So this is my new headcanon for Scarlet:
Scarlet’s birthname wasn’t actually Scarlet Heart but Auburn Heart and her mane was a muted shade of brown. Rarity would call her Abbie and used to love dressing her up in super girly, frilly, princessy type dresses.Scarlet liked the dressing up part especially as she got to spend time with her mom.
When she got older though Scarlet adopted a whole bunch of new hobbies and interests that didn’t quite mesh as well with Rarity. For one she no longer wanted part of the princess dresses or overly sparkly ballroom gowns that her mother felt so attached. Instead she found a new outlet in rockabilly-esque style and dyed her mane a much brighter red. She also no longer felt all that attached to her given name and as soon as she was able changed it to Scarlet Heart.
Joe and Petit took to it quite quickly and usually call her ‘Red’, Rarity however still struggles with the new name and more often than not still call her Abbie. Rarity would never admit it to her children but she did take offense at the sudden name change and is still slightly bitter that the name she choose wasn’t good enough. Of course she also realises that her childrens happiness and confidence about themselves is what ultimately matter but the bitterness still lingers in the back of her head. It’s probably the biggest reason Rarity keeps saying her daughters name wrong.
