Little HC About Velvet Twilight:
 
Born into a family of “boring ol librarians”, Velvet Twilight outcasted herself as someone who had always had an adventurous streak. She was an avid reader naturally, but always longed to be doing the amazing things in the books. For a long time though she kind of suppressed this and lived a pretty normal, frankly happy-enough librarian life. That was until she met the clumsy electrician Night Light, who stumbled his way into her life and gave her that push beyond just reading. They eloped (not really but they like to pretend. They’re huge dorks like that.) and spent their honeymoon travelling around Equestria.
 
After having her own son and watching him grow and learn, she decided her calling in life was teaching kids about the world and all of its wonders. So she quit her job at the library and began Daring Do’s Adventure Camp!
 
At first, Daring Do was just her stage name, but eventually she became so invested in her character than she began telling stories about Daring Do’s life. These campfire tales became bestselling children’s novels that expanded into entire fan conventions with a unexpectedly adult audience. She wrote other books too, like the Tale of the Pillars - but that one was not nearly as popular.
 
She became a titular character in Prince Blueblood’s life, leading him to a life of real adventure and treasure hunting and earning him his trademark compass cutie mark. Reading her whole life equipped her with so much knowledge, Blueblood could never ever stump her with a question. He thought she was the smartest pony he had ever met. Being the main mother figure in his life - besides Celestia - Blueblood became very attached to Velvet, practically idolizing her as the greatest adventurer he’d ever known. (Like the MLP version of Mary Poppins but more silly than enchanting).
 
Much to his dismay when she decided to retire her Daring Do Camp after a very difficult pregnancy with Twilight Sparkle.
 
To this day he feels kind of bitter about her quitting the thing that meant the most to him, but he continued his own life travelling to the most dangerous regions of Equestria, spending his teenage years trying to live up to the dream Velvet was trying to inspire in his young little heart.
 

 
guys on an unrelated note I’ve been watching Tuca and Bertie all night, and it’s so cute and happy. It hits all of my happy buttons.
 
and I have to get a rabies vaccine tomorrow so I don’t get rabies from Belizean bats this summer hahahaaa so shiiit, but I guess it’s better than getting the post-bite rabies shot.
 
Anyway I hope you like my HC! It’s meant to be more fun, and it’s the first entry into my revamp of Blueblood’s character. Making him a racist asshole was not only pushing me into a writer’s corner, but it was also like…too dumb? And uncomfortable? And unrealistic because he’s an amazing diplomat? All the reasons, so hopefully this at least does him a little better! He’s still gonna be kind of an ass that screws people over, so no worries if you like that kind of character.
