”So NOW they love it? Last week Holly was telling us that ‘Fafa is better.’ I paid 200 bits for that mutt!”
”Turq, it ain’t about the money! It’s about whether or not our children love him. An’ look, have you ever seen them so happy?”
”Well, I’m glad someone’s happy, because I just stepped in its piss. And I’m pretty sure I smell dog shit in the other room.”

Although I did a Ponies and Pets sketchdump awhile back, there is one (recently developed) Kindverse pet who deserves recognition: Turq and Mel’s family dog, Rocco!
The story of how they got him is quite interesting, actually. Mel was planning to get Holly a puppy, but thanks to a miscommunication, Turq unintentionally convinced her that giving Holly a sibling would be a better idea. It went something like this:
Mel: “Turq, I’ve been thinking lately, Holly deserves someone to play with. We should-“
Turq: “I AM NOT CARRYING IT!”
Mel: “I was going to say ‘get a puppy,’ but now that I think about it, I think Holly would rather have a sibling.”
Turq: “Celestia dammit.”
When Fafa was born and Mel told Holly about the puppy idea, she decided that puppies were better than babies and immediately started begging for one. Eventually, Turq gave in and spent a couple hundred hard-earned bits to get Holly a puppy for her next birthday.
Her reaction? “Fafa is better.”
Of course, both Holly and Fafa quickly came to adore the new puppy, but Turq sure found it a hassle. Especially since, as the parent and as the only adult in the house not revolted by bodily waste, it was often left up to her to take care of it. But who knows, maybe she eventually warms up to little Rocco~
