“I’ve created this new oc, or rather “co-created” I suppose (I made the design.) Anyways this is what a friend who took major part in development has to say:
 
I’d like to introduce a new pony to the ensemble of /mlp/ ocs. Freyja! [pic 1 – full picture]  
I couldn’t help but notice a lack of Nordic representation in board OC here, so a few others and I have created a qt mare to fill the need. Strong traditionalism and unbreakable committment to her culture and volk are among her most admirable traits.  
Her cutie mark is the Odal rune, used by actual Nordic nationalist fronts today. The meaning behind it is deep:

Othala: (O: Ancestral property.) Inherited property or possessions, a house, a home. What is truly important to one. Group order, group prosperity. Land of birth, spiritual heritage, experience and fundamental values. Aid in spiritual and physical journeys. Source of safety, increase and abundance.

We came to determine her name based off of the Nordic godess Freyja, who represented both love and war.  
Her personality is that of a kind stoic. She opens up to her friends (especially when plied with mead!), but to most of the world she puts up a cold, yet polite wall. She’d prefer to keep to herself and her close volk.  
Freya is fearless in battle, often counted as reckless in the face of overwhelming odds. Skilled in sword, bow, and axe, few have escaped her onslaughts alive. However, she has an even greater skill which has turned the tide of many conflicts–this is her magic.  
Freya is a unicorn. From an early age, she was chosen to learn the ways of the Völva–the role of the ancient Nordic druidic priestess/shamen. I found the Wikipedia article on Völva to be a fascinating introduction to the topic, and I have attached relevant screencaps from the article as an initial spiritual guide to Freya.

Here is the interesting bit: Völva practiced war. However, unlike the men who would be physical combatants, Völva were spiritual warriors. They used a small loom and a distaff to literally weave the future through magic. They could physically bind and loosen fighters, and the strongest could both sense and redirect fate. They were highly repsected and served a unique role, which men were not allowed or able to fill.  
As for color scheme, we landed on a light beige coat with strawberry-blonde hair. Her eyes are heterochromatic; her left eye is purple and her right eye is blue. The color of her magic is golden-white/green. She is capable of weaving silky threads of glittering magic through her loom, which she carries with her. Her cutie mark is simply black, but she has weaved vine-type tatoos below on her flanks.  
I plan to make vectors for her at some point soon, and will release a color guide using show-standard pastels when I do.
