happy twilight day, all~
 
for the occasion i’m gonna take a little more time to explain my headcanon twimom who’s appeared before

the above pics are set at some arbitrary midpoint of her pregnancy - this one is set towards the very end, and explains what kinda babies she’s having - purely magic ones, composed of her own magic~
 
there’s probably 30 in there at this point
 
one day she’s studying different types of magic, but finds herself very bored of conventional magic, wanting to see if there’s anything she hasn’t tried yet (this is the mare who travelled through time, for pete’s sake)
 
digging deeper, she finds a tome of seemingly forgotten (or possibly forbidden) arcane magic and is immediately intrigued. stumbling on some spells labelled under something called “life magic”, she tries it on herself
 
…gets suddenly all pregged up
 
…and develops an insatiable taste for it almost immediately
 
oops guess she’s got a MASSIVE preg kink
 
“life magic” basically turns the user’s own magic into sentient life, using their body’s typical biological functions to sustain it. mares using this magic can therefore impregnate themselves without needing stallion dna. the babies can also be reabsorbed back into the mother’s magic supply at any time with another part of the spell.
 
twilight is not only thrilled at the prospect of trying out largely untested arcane magic on herself - she is also overjoyed at the idea of being a mom
 
to as many as she wants
 
no srsly she gets a real taste for it - the moment she feels one single life squirming away inside her, she knows she has to have more~
 
the days go by and the pregnancy which is a far faster one than usual (a week at most - the babies form fully grown in a matter of hours) continues without showing any signs of negative impact to her health - with the exception of her alicorn magic getting gradually weaker as she sustains more and more lives, and her getting lazier (and less mobile) as a result
 
in her continuing fits of mom-hunger (or momger) she eventually requires spike to assist with casting the spell that gives her yet more babies~ (not to mention he has to rush around preparing nachos and ice cream for her every other hour because that belly gets hungry)
 
to her friends, her behavior is oddly hilarious but still concerning - they have to deal with this for close to a week
 
twily becomes bedridden eventually, completely pinned by her hyper-preggy tummy, but frankly she couldn’t be happier about it
 
eventually her belly starts complaining and she simply can’t hold any more - nearly all her alicorn magic is now completely concentrated in her belly, kicking away~
 
it takes her some convincing, but she finally decides to give birth by calling on the next part of the spell which will induce labor
 
the birthing is helped along by the life magic spell so it doesn’t take too much effort on her part
 
and that’s more or less it~ after the successful birth of her first baby, we have this cute lil scene here~

there are a few more things about this i want to explore and may draw stuff of in the coming days~
 
for now just enjoy happy hyper-preggy twiggy and her firstborn magic babbu
 
i also need to figure out the timeline for this bc it needs to be s6 or onward if i want to include starlight in these shenanigans too (>>1775661 and >>1800308)… but i’d need to stop setting these scenes in golden oaks, lol
