)(For a while after their divorce, Big Mac spent most of his time on the farm. When he finished his chores for the day, he did Applejack’s before she could say anything. And once hers were done, he went on to Apple Blooms’. Eventually, it got so bad, Applejack and Apple Bloom woke up to every chore on the farm done. Big Macintosh began waking up early just to start working. Through every apple buck, through every branch hitting him in the face, Big Mac kept working and stopped taking care of himself. Finally, Apple Bloom and AJ got together and decided to team up to try to get Big Mac to take a day off)

Apple Bloom: Hey, Big Mac..

Mac: *glances at her and keeps plowing* Eeyup?

Apple Bloom: How about ya let me plow the field a bit?

Mac: Nope.

Apple Bloom: Come on, Big Mac! You do nothing but work all day, don’t ya think you could let somepony else do it for once?

Mac: Nope.

Apple Bloom: Alright, that’s it! *jumps in front of him and frowns* Big Mac, Applejack and I are worried about you. We havn’t even heard ya snoring in weeks, so we know you aint sleeping!

(Big Mac glances away without saying anything)

Apple Bloom: Why don’t you take a break?

Mac: But I––

Apple Bloom: No buts! You need to take some time off and NOT work. Let us do it for a day! Oh! How about you take the twins into town for the day? They’ve been wanting to spend some time with their Big Uncle Macky?

Mac: ….

Apple Bloom: Please Big Mac? You could take them to get some balloons? I’m sure Twisty Pop is still in the park around this time!

Mac: … Fine.

Apple Bloom: Thank you! They’re in the kitchen, I’m sure they’ll be very happy to spend some time with you.

Mac: *Nods silently and sighs, then turns to head towards the house and stops* But Apple Bloo––

Apple Bloom: No buts I said! *pushes him off* Go on, times a’wasting!

After the divorce and death of his daughter, Big Mac sinks into a depression and focuses on work to distract himself
from everything.. Meanwhile, AJ and Apple Bloom notice this, and force him to get out for a little while.
Apple Bloom decided to let him babysit Finch and Wren; it’ll be nice for them to spend time with their uncle for once.
