SG: “Now Star, you’ll socialize and make friends while we’re in Ponyville, right? I don’t want you to spend all your time doing nothing but reading.”  
SS: “But Mother, Flurry said I have to read this book and write a short essay on the meaning of magical theory!”  
SG: “Yes, and she gave you two weeks to do it. Surely you can take one day off from your studies! Besides, she also told you to make some friends.”  
SS: “Yes, mother. Whatever.”  
SG: “I’ll be in Sugarcube Corner if you need me. Look over there, there are two ponies you can talk to already!”  
SS: (reading his book) “Yeah, yeah. Have fun.”  
(Starlight leaves)  
(Cheesy and Creamy are playing nearby)  
CC: “Creamy! Where are you going?”  
CJ: “I’m going over to talk to that colt! He looks lonely.”  
CC: “But we’re not done playing ball! Wee can do something else if you want.”  
CJ: (already walking towards Shining Star)  
CC: “Okay, suit yourself.”  
CJ: (walking over to Star) “Hey!_{”  
SS: (still reading) “Hello.”  
CJ: “My name’s Creamy! What’s yours?”  
SS: “Shining Star.”  
CJ: “You wanna do something? Play a board game?”  
SS: “No thanks. I have to study.”  
CJ: “Ok. What are you reading?”  
SS: “I’m reading Magical Theory by Ms. Moon L. Dancer. She has been writing academic texts for 20 years and this is only her first.”  
CJ: “That sounds lovely! I don’t really like schoolbooks but I love fairytales about magical, faraway lands and happily ever afters}”  
SS: (flips a page) “Uh huh. That’s nice.”  
CJ: “So where are you from? I haven’t seen you in school.”  
SS: “I live in the Crystal Empire with my parents.”  
CJ: “Oh my, the Crystal Empire! I’ve always wanted to go there! Is it beautiful?”  
SS: “It’s decent.”  
(As Shining Star reads, Creamy sighs and stares dreamily at him.)  
CC: “Creamy, are you done yet? I gotta take you home because I gotta go…somewhere…with Thunder.”  
CJ: “I’m not done! Shiny and I are just starting to become friends!”  
SS: (looks up from his book) “Shiny??”  
CC: “Hey Shiny! I’m glad you became friends with my sister! Can I be your friend too?”  
SS: “Uh…”  
(Starlight walks out of Sugarcube Corner)  
SG: “Okay Star, it’s time to go back home before your father gets worried. Did you have fun out here?”  
SS: “Uh~~”  
CJ: “Wow Shiny, your mom is Starlight Glimmer? Hi Mrs. Glimmer, I’m Shiny’s new friend!”  
CC: “And so am I!”  
SG: “Wow Star, looks like you’ve made some friends! We’ll have to come back here more often!”  
SS: “But~~”  
SG: “Goodbye children! Star will be back to play with you soon!”  
SS: (groans)  
(Starlight and Shining Star walk away)  
CJ: (squeals) “CUUUUUUUUTE!”
