He barely got the words out of his mouth before he was met with deafening screams and cheers of “YEAH!”
Rasing his hoof in the direction of the dock, Timber shouted above the noise, “Then let’s goooo! “
In a split second, the crowd of foals took off, leaving Timber in the dust. He coughed, waving the cloud of dirt from his face and his watering eyes. Once it settled, Timber started trotting off to join the foals. He had barely gone a few yards when he caught sight of one of the Volunteer Juinor Camp Counselors galloping after him at a panicked pace.
The stallion caught himself short of Timber, only to kick up more dust, as he.
After giving him a moment to catch his breath, Timber asked, “What’s the hurry, Pinball?”
The stallion looked up from under his sweaty bangs and panted, “It’s…..it’s…one of the….fillies…sir. From cabin….cabin 204. We…can..can’t find her sir! We’ve looked everywhere! We-”
“Woah, calm down, Pinball,” Timber said calmly, placing a hoof on his shoulder. “There’s no need to panic. She couldn’t have gotten far. Do you know where she was last seen?”
The stallion racked his brain before stuttering out, “I-I think I heard something about her heading towards th-the forest…sir.”
“Alright, then. Why don’t you take over here and supervise the kid’s canoeing activity while I try to go find this missing filly, okay?”
Pinball looked panicked for a second, before straightening stiff as a rod with his hoof raised in a salute, and managed to choke out, “Ye-yes sir.”
“Great, I knew I could count on you,” Timber said, giving him a few pats on the back. He started cantering off towards the forest line, calling behind him, “ If I’m not back by sunset, send somepony after me, got it?”
The last thing he heard before disappearing into the pines was a squeaky “Yes sir!”
