Description:

Near trembling with excitement, the pink furred filly could hardly contain the squeals of joy that strove to escape her muzzle. She was just so very happy about her lessons with Zecora, that it made keeping control difficult. She was the daughter of the two most fantastic, bombastic, and energetic party ponies in all of Equestria, so her energy levels were unusually high even on a bad day. Her barely suppressed glee though only made her zebra teacher grin wide, quite pleased with Whipped Dream’s eagerness to learn the trade of potion brewing. She’d been teaching the young mare for some time - a favor for her dear friend Pinkie Pie - how to distinguish from various herbs and plants in the forests, as well as regaling her with their uses and properties. Today however was the first time that the filly would get to see some brewing first hand and Zecora loved how appreciative and excitable the pink pony was in regards to it.

“Now watch carefully and you’ll see, brewing potions might not seem as hard as it’s cracked up to be,” Zecora instructed in her rhythmic, almost melodic tone.

Dream’s response was to nod her head vigorously, curled mane bouncing, and smile even bright, making the current gap in her grin from a lost tooth all the more obvious. Crading a dark blue bottle filled with a viscous liquid between her foreleg and chest, Zecora pulled the cork from it with her teeth, spitting it off to the side. Focusing on her cauldron, already filled mostly with an almost clear, bubbling liquid, she began to dump some of the contents into the pot. For a moment, nothing happened, though Zecora seemed unperturbed as she turned away for a moment, settling the half empty bottle on a shelf nearby. Then she turned her attention back towards Whipped Dream and the cauldron, an almost sly expression on her face.

Whipped Dream’s brow furrowed, her lips tipping downward a bit at the lack of reaction. She had been expecting something certainly, most definitely not nothing. “Miss Zecora, I don’t think it~~” The filly began worriedly.

However, her words were cut short by a sudden near explosive bubbling of the pot and a flash of intense yellow-green light and she quickly shielded her eyes. Zecora was chuckling to herself as Dream lowered her foreleg, her green eyes suddenly bulging wide with delight at the now transformed potion. The potion had now become a vivid, light green color matching almost the flash of light and was snapping a bubble here and there, a thin green fog rolling off of it in waves. A sharp, happy gasp was pulled from the pink filly and she turned with renewed excitement. “Miss Zecora, that was amazing! Why did it do that?” She chirped loudly, no longer able to contain her happiness. Dream reached up a tentative hoof towards the cauldron, which Zecora caught carefully, preventing the young mare from actually touching the bubbling liquid.

Still Zecora seemed relaxed and pleased and smiled wider back at the earth pony. “Careful now, dear, you’ve still much to learn. You mustn’t touch the potion like that for it will burn,” The zebra warned good naturedly.

Another nextgen scenario featuring young nextgens, this time the daughter of Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, Whipped Dream. As a filly, Dream possessed her parents boundless energy, and it wasn’t until her studies to develop cures and medicine began to overtake her sleeping time that she began to grow tired and lethargic. Thanks to a favor, Whipped Dream was apprenticed young to Zecora to learn to become a medicine mare of sorts when she showed interest in helping take care of other ponies, especially those who were ill.

Zecora was more than happy to share her ways with the filly, appreciating her want to help and her jovial attitude towards learning.
