Woooo, this looks bad. But I really wanted to draw it, so here it is. The official pairs for these guys, aka Thorax/Spike and Ember/Pharynx. I didn’t draw the children they are gonna have yet though, simply because I don’t have a design for them yet.
 
Aside here’s some info below:
 
Queen Spike
 
Yes, you indeed read that right.
 
For awhile Spike stuck as Twilight’s secretary, having never pictured leaving her side. After awhile, and some identity questioning. Spike decided to transition, and what followed after was a relationship with Thorax. Of course before the transition there was interest in each other, but she needed time before getting into an actual relationship. [Personal problems + after affects of the long lasting crush on Rarity.]
 
Although perfectly happy where she is, Spike does miss living with Twilight and having a simpler life of not being royalty.
 
[Yeah, so to explain my idea- I’ve always pictured Spike as a trans girl. Or specfically, I guess, a future trans girl. The reason she keeps the name Spike is because she likes it, and doesn’t wanna drop it. It’s also because it feels out of place for me to call Spike anything other then well… Spike.
 
Another thing I’ve noticed is a lot of people make Spike big, and strong looking- like usual dragons… but personally I like to imagine Spike growing to be… slim? IDK I liked the idea of Spike always remaining a smaller dragon than most, and being more salamander-ish.]
 
King Thorax
 
It’s no lie Thorax had a crush on Spike for a long time, and was too nervous to step up to his feelings. Knowing Spike’s long time interest in Rarity and worrying about ruining the friendship, plus more. After growing to be good friends with Ember, she found out his feelings and played a sort of wing man. [Not really, but she sees it as that way.] After some convincing, Thorax did admit how he felt. Although Spike told him he needed some time to think it over.
 
Some time did pass before they finally entered their relationship, but Thorax couldn’t be happier.
 
[Thorax is same old Thorax. Also yeah, I didn’t add his antlers. That was out of laziness + I was originally just gonna draw him like a regular old changeling, but slightly different. At last second I was like, nah- I DO like this design for him. Mostly. Maybe when I learn to genuinely draw antlers I’ll add them, I do love his whole forest god looking aesthetic.]
 
Dragon Lord Ember
 
It’s taken her time to adjust to pony customs, and learn more outside of the ways of dragons. Finding a friend in Thorax really boosted her progress, and becoming closer to him she met his brother. Surprisngly [or well not surpisingly] they got along well just fine, and enjoyed ‘sparring’ [fighting] together. Helping each other grow as people and such, it was very difficult for Ember to admit to herself that she loved him.
 
The confession was awkward, and weird but things eventually took their course almost smoothly. Shockingly, they got together awhile before Thorax and Spike even did.
 
[I don’t have much to say here, but god I love the idea of Pharynx/Ember. It’s a cute concept. OH and yes Ember is bigger because I imagine her to grow about as big as her father, it’s gonna take awhile probably.]
 
Lord Pharynx
 
There was a struggle when he and Ember finally became an item, Pharynx has a love for his hive and definetly didn’t want to leave. But having a long distance relationship was becoming a little bit of a struggle, and left a sort of longing. Eventually he deicded to finally live with Ember, only after he was certain he left enough people to fill his place at the hive. But he visits frequently and honestly, really can’t be kept away. Which Ember doesn’t mind much at all.
 
He’s very happy with Ember despite it all, and is glad to have another person that understands him.
 
[I don’t know if this is out of character or not, because Pharynx is fairly new. But I’m just gonna wing it and keep it this way.]
