The filly’s heart flutters at the idea of a carnival. 
“A carnival? Like a real carnival with rides and games!?”
 
“Yes child, exactly like that,” The mare warmly replies with a bit of excitement in her voice.“ 
The filly’s heart sinks as she thinks about home.
 
“I’m sorry, b-but I need to know what happened here… I need to find home… Unless, I can come back I don’t think I can come with you.”
 
“I’m sorry. But if you come with me, you can never leave the carnival. But, you may also want to know that… You may not be able to go home either. Your memories may come back. and likely will in my carnival but I’m afraid that the carnival is eternal.”
 
“Who are you, what is your name?”
 
The mare pauses as if she is lost in thought, “Name… I do not have a name, if I once had one, it has been long forgotten.”
 
“Oh… Is the monster still here?”
 
“It may come back, I only chased it away to save you if you wish for me to do so. As I said, the creature is like me, collecting the lost.”
 
“What about the shadow ponies in the tower? Do they belong to you?”
 
“Shadow ponies? It sounds like there are other lost foals in the tower from what you say. They probably see you in much the same way. I shall have to extend my hoof to them as well.”
