Emerald goes wide-eyed, and then charges Joyride and hugs her. He thanks her profusely for letting them see Hope.
 
“Who’s this Hope person again?” Ruby asks, snickering at Emerald’s enthusiasm.
 
“Emerald’s mommy.” Joyride says simply.
 
“Wait, but I thought his mom was… Er, you know.” Ruby says, apologetically.
 
“It’s a bit difficult to explain.” Joyride says, peeling the affectionate colt off of her, “Also, we aren’t going just to see Hope. We are going to meet up with a small team that’ll guide us to the wasps and help us get some of that royal jelly.”
 
Emerald nods, but his mind is still full with the thoughts of seeing Hope again
