Clover decides that honesty is the best policy. Telling her story, the Captain’s expression shifts from caring to concern, worried about the lil’ foal.
 
Clover then asks if they’re real pirates, and if she can join their crew, which elicits an uproar of laughter from all the surrounding ponies.
 
“She wants to be a Pirate! Ha!”
 
“Look at her, she’ll definitely scare off a seagull or two if we set her up in the crows nest!”
 
Captain Highwind quickly quiets the laughing crowd down as he turns back to the filly.
 
“Why, I don’t think the pirate life is for you, Missy. Besides…”
 
He waves a hoof over to his ship, and the pirate flag is quickly lowered. Instead, a new flag is raised.
 
“Pirates? Why, I have no idea what you’re talking about!” He gave her a wink. “Now… about your situation. I think we might just be able to help ya. How’d you like a ride over to Vanhoover? I’ve got a few connections that’ll help you along. Besides, we have to unload there anyway, so it wouldn’t be a problem.”
