Gemma lets a tear roll down her face, remembering the horrible things she’s been forced to do to keep her dark little secrets hidden from the outside world. Her sister, Lapis, stands by her side, knowing why she cries. These two have endured nothing but tragedy most of their lives.
 
This image was done for a roleplay, based in a small town called Bloodwell. The twins are the town’s matriarchs, but there’s a lot of darkness in the town’s corners, and much of the truth about what happened in the area is kept hidden in the darkest places, out of sight. Those who venture to reveal these secrets often disappear, and are never found again.
