Torch was a chubby and almost shy little guy, but dragons aren’t supposed to be cute… or meek. At least, that’s what his parents firmly believed. They weren’t very nurturing to say the least. At least he turned out just fine, right?  
Poor guy, he’s such a colossal ham and the punishments he received as a young one were so disproportionately severe that it almost makes his absurdly abusive childhood hilarious. The former dragon lord still has some issues to work out.
 
His mother, Sconce, while complicit, doesn’t have it easy either; having to covertly love a dragon who doesn’t show her a lick of affection and actively combating her motherly instincts in order to raise a tough, successful son at the same time…  
Dragons don’t do love!  
Then why does she feel so bad?
