Kitoith walked on to the balcony, shed wanted the two to have their space. Hey, so you had your talk? I was wondering if she couldnt finish that thought as she saw what the other two were seeing. Her brow furrowed, and her checks burned, WELL FINE YOU BIG JERKS, WE DIDNT NEED YOUR HELP ANYWAY!!! She yelled into the valley. It wasnt enough to reach it of course, but it startled Spike and Sharp enough to fall on to the balcony, their ears ringing and eyes spinning.
 
What was that? Spike asked.
 
Its those jerks, that Flamebreath Clan, she did in quotation marks, Theyre a clan of magic dragons.
 
I thought you said magic dragons were rare, though? Spike asked.
 
“Yeah, thats because their clan makes up 90 % of all the magic dragons were aware of. Thats because they never leave their mountain, the Im so much better than every other dragon snobbery. They come to the council meetings only to berate all the other clans. And it looks like theyre declining the call to arms we just put out. Pfft, we didnt need their help anyway. she said in a huff. “Im going to go prepare rooms and get things ready for the other dragons when they show up, stuff that those snobs arent going to enjoy.”
 
Spike looked over to Sharp, Wow, there is an awful lot of parallels between the dragons and ponies, he said in a flat voice. Although he felt disappointment for Kitoith, an idea began forming in his mind. Hmm, Spike said, If the dragons are anything like ponies, then perhaps magic dragons are like unicorns, and they might be uptight snobbish scholars as well!
 
I dont know if that was an insult or a compliment, but so what? Sharp said, One dragon clan shouldnt make that much of a difference.
 
Youd think, but I have an idea, Spike said, Come on, lets go grab the gang, I want to say this to everyone.”

“Alright Snort, that was great!” Barius said, Ill make up another batch of infused gems, then we can get back to testing!
 
Snort slumped onto Barius bed sighing in relief. Man, Ill have the strongest stomach by the end of this, some of those tastes did a number on me. Snort had helped Barius determine a few more attributes that gems to hold, mostly by eating whatever Barius gave him and writing down what he belched up. There had been a few more sparkly gems, but then there were really hot ones, and really cold ones, ones that made his belch more forceful, and even ones that turned green like Spikes. While he was really happy to be helping Barius, he kind of wished hed slow down, Snort was getting full, something he never thought possible, not to mention hes getting a swirling nausea in his stomach.
 
Alright, Snort, just about done with the next batch Barius said, though he didnt get to finish his thoughts as Spike burst open the door.
 
Hey Snort! Group meeting, were heading down to the lake. Spike said, as Sharp walked into the room past Spike.
 
Yeah, sure, come on, lets go, Snort nodded his head enthusiatically, as if his prayers were answered.
 
Aww, Barius said, disappointed, but we were just about to see if gems can a natural property that would be the most effective for them.
 
You can come to the meeting too Barius, Spike said, I think you might be interested in this as well.
 
Bariuss mood lifted as he wasnt about to get left out. Sharp walked over to Snort to help him up, Snort looked him in the eye and said in a low voice, You have no idea how grateful I am you showed up, I owe my life to you. Sharp saw Snort was still clutching his stomach and wondered just how bad it was.
 
You really need to learn how to say no, Snort, Sharp whispered under his breath, as he followed everyone as they made their way down to the lake.
