Description

“Papa? Mama?” called the frightened cub amongst all the noise. Everywhere he went villagers were running away in fear, carrying all their supplies with them. He just kept running in the opposite direction. Once in awhile some one would stop or be tripped by his tail. They would holler at him for slowing them down and for going the wrong way. He just didn’t care. He had to find his family.

As he neared the corner where his house was, the tiny cub came face to face with a chariot being driven by one of the invaders. The horses, carrying torches in their mouths, kicked at him.

“Out of our way boy,” said the dog in the chariot. Ahuizotl ran past them when he heard the calls of Amoga, his panther cub. The dog in the chariot took a torch from one of the horses and set fire to the rafters of the house. He smiled and commanded his guards to get going. “Kitty cats and fire don’t jell well, don’t they boys?”

I thought of a really dark (by which I mean inappropriate for the show) headcanon for Ahuizotl. Why was he trying to release unrelenting heat? I like to think his native country, a mesoamerican based land run by cat like or hooved animals, was dispatched years ago in a war. His village was burned down and he lost all but his pet cats. Therefor he has an obsession with letting the rest of the world feel his pain.

I wanted to have his speak a broken Spanish-like language but it felt weird. I just had him not talk.
