“Sowhats the plan?” Mangle asked, “My groups probably still down there mining, and your friends are probably locked up in another part of the cave.”
“First we get out of this cell,” Spike began to list off the points on his plan, “Next we sneak to were my friends are and release them from their cells, then we create a distraction, so we can release your friends down in the mines, then we get out of here, regroup with the other dragons to deal with this bigger problem. If we get caught, then we just fight em while we do it faster.
“Sounds better than anything I could come up with,” Mangle said, “You have enough fire juice to break everyone out?”
“Plenty,” Spike answered, “You can count on me. No dragons getting left behind.
“Okay, first things first, howre we getting out of this cell, dig through the wall? Trick a guard into getting his keys? Mangle asked.
Spike examined the door and lock, and found that they were also covered with green runes. Itd take a lot of fire to break each bar, but perhaps just the lock would be enough. He breathed some green flames on the lock, and the green aura wisped away. He could just break the lock off and the door slowly drifted ajar.
“Even easier, just opening the door,” Spike said upbeat, “Guess they never thought a dragon would be able to break all their dragon containers huh?”
“Pfft, yeah yeah,” Mangle acknowledged with a chuckle pushing the door all the way open.
“Okay, youve been here longer than I have,” Spike said, “where would the other cells be?”
“Theyre all up here on the upper level, and the quarry area is on the lower one, so wed just need to stick to the walls and try not to get caught,” Mangle answered.
The pair crouched along the side of the wall, careful not to make too much noise and alert the guards, and made their way to the other cells.
