History:  
Noctus was an unexpected result of Discord and Luna’s drunken One Night Out. Though neither the Lord of Chaos, nor the Princess of the Night have feelings for one another, they both have accepted their mistake and strive to be good parents for their son. However, as Noctus got older and continued to show no interest in Chaos magic or really anything Discord enjoyed, the two grew apart and Discord began giving more attention to his second, legitimate son, Concord. Luna, however, remained a stable confidant in Fen’s life. She supported and encouraged him in all his exploits and tried to guide him through life so that he would not make the same mistakes as his parents had. Fen’s relationship with his father is troubled, but he can always count on his mom to be there for him and listen when he needs to get something off his chest.  
When Noctus was in his teens, Luna sent him regularly on trips to ponyville so that he could socialize with ponies his age and hopefully make friends. She hoped being surrounded my the children of the Elements would have some positive impact on him. Up until this point his social skills hadn’t been tested much and these trips often ended with a tired and saddened Noctus who couldn’t seem to connect with anypony. This cycle of trial and error finally bore fruit when he met Lacey Rose. The equally timid and quiet pony was patient, kind and remarkably forgiving with Noctus and the two began to form a deep connection. Over time, Lacey managed to lead Noctus out of his isolation and got him to understand and interact more with ponies, though the roster of genuine friends he’s made over the years is still limited to say the least.
