Recently I tried out a new form of fandart, felting. I am very happy to say that it is a lot of fun and a very rewarding craft. You basically cause wool to turn into felt by piercing it repeatedly with barbed needles and as you do so you can model the felt into pretty much anything or anypony ;)  
I started with Lyra Heartstrings, one of my favorite background ponies. I felted around a little skeleton I made of wire and styrofoam. The styrofoam in the imobile parts (head and torso) helps to avoid using up too much of the expensive wool for the figure while the wire allows for the figure to take on on different poses (I’m going to upload more images of her in different poses soon).  
As for the scenery I wanted to play with the frequent Lyra likes hands motif and added one ring to rule them all because… why not? :D  
Also there is a bit of a personal story linked to that glove in this picture. I used to have a pair of them and liked to wear them very much. However, the very day I first met one of my closest friends from the brony fandom I lost the other glove of the pair. Loosing a glove and finding an awesome friend sounds like an awesome day to me.
