After their original meeting, Pinkie and Cheese collaborated on many more parties and events and became quite the party team. Spending so much time working together meant that they became very comfortable with the other around, and when they were apart they both felt a sense of loneliness that would only pass when they were able to meet up again. After a while they both came to admit their feelings towards one another and decided to try living together and maybe date a bit. Their relationship was never about passionate romance, but instead a deep rooted kinship that they didn’t want to fade away. While they never officially ‘tied the knot’, they lived together and worked together for many years, truly enjoying one another’s company.
Cheese soon came to notice how Pinkie enjoyed spending time with children, especially after her friends started having foals of their own. It was obvious that she wanted to be a mother as well, but for whatever reason she never brought it up. Cheese asked her about it one night and Pinkie admitted that she was sterile and couldn’t have foals of her own. The two kept talking about it from time to time though, growing used to the idea of adopting if they thought they were ready to take that step. Sure enough, Cheese and Pinkie began the long and tedious process of adopting. Once they were accepted and deemed capable of caring for a child, they set out to find their perfect kid. What they found instead were three foals, older than most at the orphanage, considered to be troublesome or odd by the caretakers, and generally unwanted by any possible parents. The three had become best friends at the orphanage and nether Pinkie nor Cheese could bare the idea of splitting the trio up. So, they took the three misfits home and began their roles as parents. Pinkie quickly realized that the best way to help these kids was to encourage them in whatever paths they chose and to not be too harsh when it came to accidents and mishaps. Cheese, on the other hoof, knew what it was like to grow up alone and offered a sense of stability and help enforce the rules of the house as well as being willing to help the kids with whatever school projects or personal endeavors they were working on. With Pinkie as the heart and Cheese as the backbone, the group grew into a functioning and close knit family.
Neon, a rough and tumble pegasus, was quite a handful by himself. He would pick fights with anyone he didn’t like(usually bullies) and always stood up for the underdogs. Ember, a cheery little unicorn, had a knack for setting things on fire, even if she didn’t mean to. She was very at home with the party-life that her new parents supported and wanted nothing more than to grow up and be just like them. Grey, a quiet earth pony, was very much like Maud in her lack of enthusiasm, but she had a passion for comic books and when she got to talking about her favorite stories and characters, her gloomy nature seemed to fade away and give light to a hyperactive, easily excited ball of fangirl.
