Needless to say, our urge to eat was daunting and undeniable. We NEEDED to eat; even the slightest bit of energy would suffice. As our luck would have it, there was some sort of city in the distance, it’s high, white walls pristine on the outside but the stench of dismay hung heavy across it. Whatever the place was, a fortress, a nation’s capital, none of that mattered. What mattered was that there was prey to be had. And with prey, came our salvation. That’s how it all started.
