Quote-checking for this page caused me to come across the Wikipedia entry for Grace Hopper, which was a pretty darn interesting read. I’m not much for coding software myself (by which I mean I’m mediocre at C____), but give me some programmer history or biographies and I am hooked.

Rarity: Hmm. While they’re engaged with Fluttershy… I roll Arcana to magically and precisely reach for one of the Breezies’ pollen.
Fluttershy: What?!
Rainbow Dash: Yes. Let’s get this out of the way.
Applejack: Sure, let’s pickpocket our new friends in broad daylight. Great plan.
Rarity: Easier to ask forgiveness than permission… <roll> Ooh, 21.
DM: Your mind touches the pollen in one of the Breezies’ pouches. But immediately, that Breezie and its neighbors perk up as if they noticed something.
Rarity: Drat. I cancel my magic.
Fluttershy: Good.
Twilight Sparkle: They have their own special magic to preserve the pollen. Maybe it has a side effect of making them more aware of it?
Rarity: Most likely.
Rainbow Dash: What happened to “forgiveness over permission”??
Rarity: That assumes you aren’t found out until later. In practice, it’s easier to ask for permission than get caught in the very act.
