Costumes are fun. I enjoy wearing them. They are also a pain in the butt, and while I have the patience for a lot of things, dealing with clothing (making it or purchasing all the required fiddly bits) is not among them. Especially when I’m not getting paid, and when the ‘show’ can last upwards of four hours.

Still, I like to utilize props and such, and encourage players to do the same in a physical setting.

Story Time: Any fun stories about props being used to great or terrible effect?”

RT: Ahem. Clearly, this is where I step into the group. Twilight will need a disguise as soon as possible. And this incident will be especially motivating for Rarity. Plus, it gives me an excuse to give you this!
Twilight Sparkle: What the- You made this?
RT: I had most of the ensemble together before we started tonight. But I did personalize it while we were getting our meals. I still have a few alterations to make, but it should fit well enough for a rushed piece.
MD: Let’s roll Bluff to see how well it worked out then.
RT: <roll> Does an 11 do anything for us?
MD: Is that before adding your +8 modifier?
RT: After…
MD: Oh. Then…no.
RT: Clearly these dice don’t appreciate fashion.
