Hallowe, here’s my new MLP job. I generally like it, but I know it deserves a better job. I did it inspired by Parlay’s art. Alas, I couldn’t get in touch with him about permission to make a figure on his art. So I’ll say thank you for drawing this art, it’s really cool. But I changed the final version. So it’s only partially done by art.
And I started the process by watching the anatomy of the pony and how the master did it, because I wanted to do it very well. And as for the first time, I would say that I did it. There was practically no closure to her body. Of course a lot of people can find mistakes here, very big mistakes, but I really did do the pony the first time. Then I went on to make her head. There were problems with her anatomy, and I still think she’s weird, especially without hair. But I think she’s got a good face. When I molded the body, I figured out how to make eyes, and I made them. The funny thing is, they’re more voluminous, longer to explain. That’s what the real problem was, the ears. There’s no way they wanted to work out when I made them according to the masters’ scheme. They were too flat. So I came up with my own way, an improved way, which I looked at. Then I started making clothes, so by the way, I decided to change them for a more canonical cartoon. There wasn’t much trouble with it. Then there was the mane and the tail. It’s kind of simple, but this character has complicated hair. I started with a tail. I used to make it detachable to make it easier to work with. At first, I just made it completely out of clay. But as expected, nothing kept it in shape, and I still freaked out and made a very nice frame that saved a lot of clay and kept the shape that I needed. After making a ponytail, I started hair. After I had tormented myself a lot, I finished my hair and realized that my ear was coming out of my hair, I thought it was even better, but then I realized it wasn’t and I had to redo it. For a few days, I’ve been doing the frame. It didn’t work because the foil was always out of place, plus the hair itself looked more like a hat than the hair. But I did make a mane after all. And that’s it, the figure was ready.
Then I started fixing it and puttying it, because it fell down twice. Her arm was broken, her clothes were broken, and a piece fell off, two back hooves, and an ear. So, yeah. But I learned how to use a putty because this is my first time.
After all the treatments, I started painting the figurine. There was no problem with the clothes or the body. When I had to do the qutimark, I got scared, but still I did it. And it was very good. There were problems, but nothing, in the end it ended very well. When I painted the mane and tail, I was in a really bad mood. Because these paints have a terrible coverage. Dark colors plus minus normal, but light, it’s terrible. I spent half the day trying to make a normal yellow, but okay, with grief in half, plus or minus cover (I think there are about 15 coats). But the red one… I couldn’t get him out of there properly. Plus, I sometimes accidentally hit the yellow areas, and I had to scrub them with a little wet brush, because it’s not an option to sketch them, because they just can’t change the color of a white color, and even for white I’m not sure. Horrible colors. After that, I realized I had to change the colors, buy expensive Valejjo from Amazon. With grief in half finished, a lot of problems with hair dyeing, but it’s better than just break a figure, because I just could not stand and probably in a rush of rage would destroy it. Painted it, and there it is. Not the Time, Love and Couture level, of course, but we’ve got less scope. I thought I’d make a figure at the end of summer, and then almost a year away. But now I’m not sure if I can do anything with these paints. Oh, by the way, it’s probably the last figurine after which I’ll disappear as I’m in school. I think there’ll be new ones in the summer.
Okay, don’t hit it. Bye, .
