Having not been to any major London railway termini other than Kings Cross, in quite a few years, Im not sure if they still have those tatty looking wood-paneled trains with crappy doors that dont lock.  
I remember years ago, going to London and you used to have to open the doors from the handle on the outside, by hanging out of the window whilst the train was moving still. Many commuters had this amazing skill, where theyd be able to leave the train whilst it was still rolling, and as they jumped onto the platform, theyd manage to keep their composure and carry on walking alongside it.
 
I tried it and fell flat on my face, but I admired their abilities.
