It’s a later game. In the first one, the first mission is recapturing a ship in Alaska and the last mission is in a desert town and is based on Blackhawk Down.

@Humble Oriathan
i live in the long country of people who are inmune to earthquakes, wich is also an irrelevant one (since dem yankees cant grasp the concept that there is a whole continent after mexico), so it stuck out to me that we were even featured in a game

Not in the first one. The mission sets took place in Alaska, Thailand, the Congo and Turkmenistan. I was never able to beat the first mission of the Turkmenistan set.

I mean user interface while online with the PS2. Was it basically a black screen with text being displayed as the network was updating or searching for servers?

If you mean the physical hardware, you can get a “butt shot” here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2_Expansion_Bay#Network_Adaptor

Basically, the rear had two interfaces: one that slotted into a really loose port under the expansion door on the back of a PS2, and one that was a standard IDE interface and 4-pin Molex that allowed the connection of an old IDE HDD (making the network adapter a requirement for any game, albeit few, that needed a hard drive). The “world-facing side” had two ports: one 6P2C (RJ11) for direct modem usage and one 8P8C (RJ45) for ethernet and LAN usage. As such, it was wholly incompatible with the “Slimline” PS2 and only worked with the classic “phatstation”.

If you mean a software interface, there was none. There was a minor change to the system’s BIOS that allowed IP configuration, but otherwise all software control was via each individual game and HDD maintenance was performed via a software tool included with the adapter (or with HD Loader if you happened to get your hands on that absolute gem of a tool).

The original Monster Hunter, Resident Evil: Outbreak (Left 4 Dead years before Left 4 Dead was a thing), Amplitude, Burnout 3, Champions of Norrath, Armored Core: Last Raven… there were a lot of decent online games on the PS2 (as opposed to the GameCube that had, what, 2 games?) but the “entry fee” (cost of a PS2 network adapter and, for some games, a hard drive) was pretty high.

Default search

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
