Food prices aren’t 200% higher than 4 years ago and renting a single room doesn’t cost 2 full time incomes, the GDP is exploding, stonks are on fire, the economy is great, shut the fuck up prol.
I saw someone from WSJ on C-SPAN. He was talking about inflation and he gave the most ridiculous analogies I’ve ever heard. He talked about buying TVs. “A TV might be more expensive today than it was in 1980, but that’s because it’s so much better quality.” “A person might charge higher rent today because people are making more money. Until companies cut wages prices will be higher because high wages means people are willing to spend more money on the same products.” (Not exact quotes, but he gave those two examples).
Here’s something from the AARP about TV prices:
Along with shelling out about $500 for a 20-inch color TV in 1985, you risked a hernia, as well. And you were spending big bucks on a set back then — $1,195 (adjusted for inflation). Today you can get a lightweight 24-inch color TV for a much lighter price: $149.99.
The guy from WSJ is clearly lying. I don’t think he’s an idiot, I think he’s lying to people deliberately. Inflation went from transitory to permanent to now it doesn’t exist and you’re nuts (or evil) if you even think there’s inflation.
As for wages increasing and people being willing to spend more money for the same products, food has inelastic demand. People have to eat (except Eugenia Cooney somehow), so it doesn’t matter if food is more expensive, they either pay the higher prices, steal the food, or starve to death. I don’t give a shit about TVs that have “higher quality”, whatever that means, people care about food and rent and other bills. We’re not hallucinating, we’re not crazy, the cost of living is ridiculously out of control.

Why is there a discrepancy between the number of forum posts listed on

And

For whatever reason, the value listed at the bottom of the page in the second link is two less than the value listed in the first link. Is there a particular reason for this? Are deleted comments counted on one but not the other?

Women ALWAYS worked.
This is something that I’ve thought about for a long time. Although I added a qualifier:
“Poor women have always had to work, in every society ever.”
These guys always seem to forget that rich people have servants. And rich women need poorer women to be their servants (such as wetnurses, as you mentioned).
Furthermore, rich women would usually spend much of their time managing not just their own servants, but all of the house’s servants, as well as planning events. So ‘housewives’ were really more of a middle class thing.
I also doubt that any of the men telling women they shouldn’t have jobs would be willing to take up any of the various pink collar occupations such as nursing, hotel housekeeping, airline stewardesses, administrative assistants, or cosmetics sales that would be vacated if all of those women actually left the workforce.
What’s the tradwife doing at home all day when a week’s worth of chores is now done in a single afternoon, if that?
Everyone seems to have collectively forgotten that women were forming social, cultural, and community service clubs during and even before the 1950’s. Even back then women still had social lives.
Or even the simple fact that women like to befriend other women and talk to each other.
to get kids out of factories so men could make more money.
There was probably also an element of children’s welfare there as well.
Also, if a self-proclaimed “tradwife” doesn’t know what these sticks are called and what they’re used for, she’s a grifter.

“I” before “E” except after “C”, and when sounding like “A” as in “Neighbor” and “Way”, and on weekends and holidays and all throughout May, and you’ll always be wrong no matter what you say.

In the movie World War Z they somehow run from Jerusalem to Ben Gurion Airport while fighting zombies in under 30 minutes with someone who received massive trauma. And that was with several stops along the way.
The fastest marathon is just over 2 hours. The distance they traveled is 6 percent farther IF they were traveling in a straight line, which they weren’t. Google says it’s 45 minutes with a car, 13 HOURS on foot.

Potatoes are more closely related to nightshades, eggplants, tomatoes, chili peppers, tobacco and petunias
than they are to sweet potatoes.

This post, which I am making right now, will be my one thousandth forum post on this website.
Therefore, this post right here, that I am making right now, should put me over the threshold for obtaining the coveted Chatty Kirin badge, according to the counter for obtaining the badge, although I might make a few more posts just in case.

I think they should certainly be given a chance, but if they insist on being entitled assholes then you can shun them.

But also, that chance doesn’t have to specifically be given by you. If an autist harasses another artist, then he’s revealed himself and you would be justified in shunning him if he has already acquired a reputation.
they believe that important things like talent or stupid things like E-fame work like osmosis
Fame can work like that, though you actually have to bring something to the table yourself for that to work.
But describing it as ‘osmosis’ reminds me of a certain autistic art beggar who believed he could vicariously have sex with his favorite pony by commissioning a self-insert hentai comic.

A constant I’ve noticed among autist people is how they believe that important things like talent or stupid things like E-fame work like osmosis and there’s no way to make them understand it doesn’t work like that.
Even when one tries to help them to learn how to create their own art and build a name for themselves, the average autist will get angry and reject the help because “help” implies he has a problem, lacks something or needs to wait before he could get any results, when all what he wants is immediate praise and fame, and they can waste years of their lives trying and failing to get things their own way.

I still think that everyone deserves a chance, but people like this make very difficult to keep that mindset.
