- Noctus is the first child of Luna and Magnus, making him the rightful heir to the moon throne and a guardian of the Dream Realm. Noctus, coincidentally, was born during a new moon in his mother’s bedroom being accompanied only by his father. Noctus was born with some feline characteristics, hence his lion paws and ears. In the history of Equestria, he is the first male to ever be born in the royal family. By this fact, Noctus wears it as a proud sign, and makes an effort in showing a poised and regal image. He is a serious prince, with a well mannered language, and mostly speaks in the old royal verbiage, which also comes with the high royal voice. Although he doesn’t use it too often, as it can easily scare the ponies that work along side him. Noctus takes being a royal a serious business, so he takes his studies of Equestrian and Sphinx history with so much significance.
- Making Noctus laugh has become sort of a bet within the castle workers and his family, as it has seem like such an impossible thing to do. The ponies have given up on making the usual “accidental” fall on a banana peel, silly scares, and even the dummiest of jokes. Something all those actions have is that they all end up in failure. But even more so than making him laugh, are some rumors of the prince being a bit somewhat sarcastic and intimidating. Most of these rumors started when some of the noble families come around to interact with the royal family. And in one of these, some of the ponies would mention how the working class should be payed less, how lazy they were, and even maybe that they shouldn’t even interact in the fancy and luxurious streets of Canterlot. With this, Noctus grew more and more irked, until when he was given a chance to give his input on the situation that he barreled the arrogant ponies their due. He made the ponies apologize for talking that way in his presence and to never even think of imposing such ridiculous ideas on Canterlot. Although he means well, Noctus has a way of managing things that to the public eye might seem to harsh or rude. But he is only looking out for his people and his workers.
- Being the child of two different kingdoms, Noctus from a young age had to learn the native language of the Sphinx Mountains. Now in his adult-hood, he is fluent in both languages and can switch from talking one to the other. This has given him a boost of confidence with the Sphinx population, and has given the sphinx’s a good image towards him which has been a relief. Although it can become a bit funny when he stumbles with his words. Magnus often practices with his son, mostly by talking to him in the language.
- Talking about his father, Noctus has a fair relationship with his parents. Magnus has been nothing but a gentle paw and an iron claw with his son. Teaching him to be a fair ruler and at the same time to keep a cool head when the time comes to. When young, Noctus would always like to play wrestle with his father, and this taught him of his biting force and pouncing. Although he may not need it anytime soon, Magnus has also taught him on the art of stealth and stalking. Which has become quite handy when he decided that he wanted to train along with the royal guard. He doesn’t want to become a royal guard himself, but just to have the skills to defend himself can come helpful if needed. Which also brings in another practical gene from his father and mother, is that he was also born with night vision. Which gives him an advantage when training in the dark. This irritates some of the guards as they do not think its fair.
- With his mother, Noctus has always had a soft spot for her. Have been talked about the story of her past, Noc always tries to make his mother feel included and loved. As a cub, when they learned Noc could access the dream realm, Luna started brining him around. She would teach him the skill of defending one in their dreams or nightmares. This was a way for Luna to bond with his dearest son, which she felt so proud of. As he grew up and Noctus has been caught up in his studies to accompany her, he does sometimes gives up his studies to go along with his mother. Outside of that, Luna and Noc would have long and deep talks, mostly Noc asking her of her time studying with Star Swirl and her time as a new princess in Equestria.
- When it was announced that his mother would be having another foal, to say everybody was excited but Noc was an understatement. Little Noc was jealous to say the least, which made Luna sad and feared for his son’s jealousy towards the new baby. So she would comfort him and tell him how he would have some company, and how they would never love him any less when the baby would be born. Well, when Moon Flower was born, Noctus did not even want to leave his room. His auntie Tia and his father couldn’t even get him out of his room. After a week, Nymph, who was overjoyed for the birth of her little cousin, physically brought Moon Flower to his room for him to meet. Nymph laid Moon on the bed, and Noc would occasionally glance at her and look away. “She looks like a raisin” grumbled Noc, followed by a smack in the back of his head by Nymph. After a few minutes, he finally have her a chance and came close to her. She was small, with tiny folded ears and her eyes shut tight. She didn’t make too much fuss, which intrigued Noc to come close and give her head a sniff. “She’s….alright I guess”. During the next week, he would come around to his parents chamber where they kept the baby. He would just stare at her from a distance, mostly thinking to himself that he could maybe tolerate the new baby. A another two weeks had passed by and it was in that time that she finally opened her eyes, but something was wrong. She had no reflexes to movements in front of her or would walk away from her mother when she called for her, as if she couldn’t tell where she was going. As Noc was on his way to wish their parents a good day(sleep), he heard sniffling and wailing from his parents room as the door was opened a crack. He peeked through the door, which he could make out his mother, father, and the castles doctor. His mother was cradling his sister, crying. “I apologize so much your majesties, I did all the studies and it all falls down to it. We can try to find something to cure it but, for all I know, she might be blind her whole life”. Blind? What? This, after he started gaining some affection to his sister, she was blind. She would never be able to see the night, the moon, Equestria, her family, him. It made small Noc tear up, which interrupted the ponies inside the room. Noc came in crying, asking if she was really blind, if they could do something, that it was not true. Noc took Moon Flower out of his mothers arms and hugged his sister. He looked at her, hoping that maybe the doctor was wrong. But her eyes just didn’t connect with his and her tiny paws wailed around searching for his face. Until they landed on his cheeks. She babbled and laughed at feeling the fuzzy ness of her brother cheeks, which made Noc, Luna, and Magnus cry even harder. They all formed a circle hugging each other, with tiny Moon in the center.
- Noc, as an older brother, is as overprotective as he can be. Since the day they were told she would most likely be blind her whole life, Noc promised himself he would protect and take care of her. He can always be seen beside her, and well by Nymp’s orders of his room being beside hers, Moon’s room is right in-between the two. They both like to take walks through the royal gardens, have tea with their cousin Nymph, and Noc likes to read his sister books. Which can be super fun for Moon as she likes to read fantasy books, and as Noc reads he makes the characters lines sound so silly.
- Having both a sister and a cousin can be a downfall, as Moon and Nymph like to bother Noc with silly stuff. He does let it pass, and it gives him a bit of joy to know they are having fun, even if it means they make silly pony tails on his hair.
